Introduction

Yeon Chang Song is a partner attorney in the Labor & Employment Team at Yulchon LLC. He graduated from the College of Law and the School of Law (J.D.) at Seoul National University and is licensed to practice law in Korea, and he is ABD in the doctoral program in Civil Law at the Graduate School of Law of Seoul National University. Mr. Song advises extensively on human resources (HR) matters, including employee status, wages, dismissal, employment rules, industrial action, in-house subcontracting, and the so-called "Yellow Envelope Act," and he also handles litigation relating to labor-management disputes. Mr. Song has lectured on a wide range of labor law topics at Samsung Human Resources Development Center, Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, SK SUPEX, Hyundai Motor Company, CJ Logistics, Doosan, the Seoul Bar Association, and IHCA, among others, and he actively contributes labor-related columns to various publications, including CHO Insight of the Korea Economic Daily and Monthly Labor Law. Mr. Song was named a Rising Star by Legal Times in 2025 and was recognized as a Next Leader in the Law Firm Consumer Report published by Law Times in 2026.
