Hee Jung Ra is a Partner in the firm's IP & Technology Practice Group. Prior to joining Yulchon in 2018, Ms. Ra served as a judicial law clerk at the Seoul High Court, where she gained extensive experience handling a broad spectrum of civil and commercial disputes. Since joining the firm, she has developed a distinguished practice as both an attorney and a Korean patent attorney, advising domestic and international clients on sophisticated intellectual property and technology-related matters. Ms. Ra graduated first in class from the Department of Chemistry at Seoul National University before earning a J.D. from Seoul National University School of Law. She also completed the doctoral coursework (Ph.D. candidate) in Civil Law at Seoul National University. Ms. Ra further earned an LL.M. with Honors from Columbia Law School and is admitted to the New York State Bar. With a unique combination of technical expertise and legal training, Ms. Ra advises clients across the full spectrum of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and industrial technology. Ms. Ra has extensive experience representing clients in high-stakes IP litigation and providing strategic counseling on complex IP issues. She also regularly advises on and negotiates technology transfer and IP licensing agreements, as well as IP-related compliance and commercialization matters. Recognized for her expertise and professional achievements, Ms. Ra has been named a Rising Star by Managing Intellectual Property for five consecutive years (2022–2026).
